The Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027 will be held on Sunday 28 February 2027.

The race has an official distance of 21.0975 km and runs through the municipalities of Girona, Salt and Sarrià de Ter.

The start will take place in front of the Pavelló Municipal Girona-Fontajau at 8.30 am, under the start conditions set out in Article 3 of these Regulations.

All communications addressed to participants will be sent primarily to the email address provided during registration, as well as through the event's official channels.

Each participant is responsible for providing correct contact details and for reading the communications sent by the Organisation.

The race is run under these Regulations and under the rules in force of the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA).

It is open to everyone, licensed or unlicensed, who is correctly registered and holds an official race bib.

The minimum age is 16 years old on race day. Participants under 18 must provide express written authorisation signed by a parent or legal guardian, following the procedure set by the Organisation.

Taking part with bicycles, skates, skateboards, animals or any other device or item not expressly authorised by the Organisation is not allowed.

The Organisation reserves the right to close registration early if the maximum number of participants is reached, as set out in Article 5.

The publication of participant data and the use of images captured during the event are governed by Article 18. Image rights and data protection.

The start of the Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027 will take place on Sunday 28 February 2027 in front of the Pavelló Municipal Girona-Fontajau at 8.30 am, with a single start for all participants.

To ease organisation, keep runners safe and make the start flow better, participants will be distributed into four start corrals according to their expected finish time, which each runner must state when registering:

• Corral 1 – YELLOW: up to 1 h 30 min.
• Corral 2 – GREEN: 1 h 30 min to 1 h 45 min.
• Corral 3 – BLUE: 1 h 45 min to 2 h.
• Corral 4 – ORANGE: over 2 h.

Each participant must enter the corral assigned to them, identified by its colour, according to the expected time stated at registration.

The Organisation reserves the right to check, change or reassign a participant's start corral where necessary to ensure the smooth running and safety of the event.

The time limit to complete the Half Marathon is 2 h 45 min from the official start time.

A mandatory checkpoint will be set at kilometre 10, which must be passed within 1 h 18 min 10 s of the official start time.

Participants reaching the kilometre 10 checkpoint after that time will be out of the race and must leave the course, following at all times the instructions of the Organisation, the volunteers and the security services.

Those who decide to carry on on their own must do so off the race course, on the pavement or in areas set aside for pedestrians, obeying traffic rules and accepting that they are no longer part of the race.

These participants will not appear in the official results.

The details the Organisation will use to manage participation and produce the results are those provided by the participant during registration.

Each participant is responsible for checking that these details are correct, complete and up to date.

The Organisation may at any time request a national ID card, passport or equivalent official identity document to verify a participant's identity and/or age.

The processing, publication and disclosure of these details are governed by Article 18 of these Regulations and by the event's privacy policy.

The Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027 has a maximum of 5,000 bibs.

Entry prices are set according to the number of bibs sold:

• Bibs 1 – 500: €27
• Bibs 501 – 2,000: €32
• Bibs 2,001 – 3,500: €37
• Bibs 3,501 – 5,000: €42

The platform’s corresponding fee is added to every price above, whatever the applicable price band.

Participants without a valid federation licence, current for 2027 and covering this race, must additionally pay €2 for the accident insurance attached to the day licence.

The federation licence must be shown when collecting the bib and the runner’s bag. It must be valid for this race, current for 2027 and genuine. If it cannot be shown, is not current, belongs to another year, is not valid for this race, or is found to have been forged, manipulated or altered, the participant must pay €5 in cash for the day-licence accident insurance.

This amount must be paid in cash at collection. Without payment, neither the bib nor the runner’s bag is handed over and the participant may not take part.

Licences issued by the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA) are accepted.

Registration is only valid once the registration process has been correctly completed and payment has been made.

Registration closes when the participant limit is reached or on the closing date set by the Organisation. The Organisation reserves the right to change the closing date for organisational reasons. Registration is personal and implies full acceptance of these Regulations.

Once registration is completed and paid, no refunds are issued, whatever the reason the participant is finally unable to take part, without prejudice to any legally applicable cases.

The specific conditions of the runner’s bag, official technical shirt and finisher medal are set out in Article 10.

Regarding the bag drop, we recommend not leaving valuables. The Organisation is not liable for the loss, theft, damage or removal of personal or valuable items, without prejudice to any liability legally attributable to it.

Participants may optionally add extra services during registration:

Personalised medal engraving

Participants who add this service can have their name and official race time engraved once they finish. The service runs on race day only, within the set hours. Medals are not engraved or posted after the event.

A specific 4-month plan to prepare for the 21.0975 km and reach the start line in the best possible shape.

Express bib collection

Lets you collect your bib on Sunday 28 February, from 6.00 to 8.00, under the conditions set out in Article 9.

All optional extras can be added during registration, before completing the purchase.

This edition of the Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona carries a significant charity component. €1 from every entry, plus participants’ voluntary donations, goes to the Consorci Sant Gregori to contribute directly to the wellbeing of the people it cares for.

The funds raised will support the Cases Confortables project, an initiative to improve spaces and make daily life more comfortable for those people. It is part of the Consorci’s commitment to move towards a Person-Centred Care (PCC) model, which puts wellbeing, privacy and quality of life at the centre of every decision.

Once the race is over, the total amount raised through entries will be announced.

Trophies go to the first three men and the first three women in the overall general classification.

The following men’s and women’s categories are also established:

• Under-25: up to 25 years old.
• Category 26-35: from 26 to 35 years old.
• Category 36-45: from 36 to 45 years old.
• Category 46-55: from 46 to 55 years old.
• Category 56-65: from 56 to 65 years old.
• Category +65: over 65 years old.

Trophies go to the first three men and the first three women in each category.

The following special prizes are also established:

Youngest and oldest participant prize: the youngest man and woman and the oldest man and woman are awarded, provided they officially complete the race.

Club prize: a men’s and a women’s classification are established. It is calculated from the sum of the official times of each club’s four fastest athletes of the same sex. The first three clubs (1st, 2nd and 3rd) are awarded in both the men’s and women’s categories. Each awarded club is represented on the podium by the four athletes whose times counted towards the final classification.

Company / institution prize: a classification by company or institution is established, calculated from the sum of the official times of each company’s or institution’s four fastest runners, regardless of sex.

The first three companies or institutions (1st, 2nd and 3rd) are awarded. Each awarded company or institution is represented on the podium by the four runners whose times counted towards the final classification.

To be eligible, at least four participants must have officially finished the race and be registered under exactly the same company or institution name, regardless of their sex.

Participants’ age is determined according to the criteria set by the rules applicable to the race.

All trophies and prizes must be collected in person on race day during the official prize-giving ceremony. Prizes not collected are not sent afterwards by post or by any other means.

People who are not officially registered, who run without a bib, or who use a bib that is not theirs may not take part.

Grounds for disqualification include:

• Providing false personal data during registration.
• Not completing the whole course.
• Being passed by the closing vehicle after the time limit has elapsed.
• Missing the checkpoints.
• Not wearing the official bib visibly.
• Tampering with, altering or forging the bib.
• Running with a bib or chip assigned to somebody else.
• Passing on a bib without following the official procedure.
• Not following the instructions of judges, medical services, security forces or Organisation staff.
• Unsporting behaviour.
• Any other conduct contrary to these Regulations or to the applicable federation rules.

Disqualified participants are removed from the classifications and have no right to prizes or trophies.

Bibs, chips and runner’s bags for the Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027 are collected at the Pavelló Municipal Girona-Fontajau, on the following days and times:

Bib collection:

Friday 26 February 2027

• 16.00 to 19.00

Saturday 27 February 2027

• 11.00 to 13.00
• 16.00 to 19.00

Express bib collection – Sunday 28 February 2027

• 6.00 to 8.00

Express collection costs an extra €4.50 and must be added during registration. Outside this option, no bibs are handed out on race day.

To collect the bib and the runner’s bag you must show:

• ID card or official identity document.
• The confirmation email showing the bib number.

The runner may authorise a third person to collect the bib and the runner’s bag on their behalf. That person must show the entry confirmation with the bib number and a copy of the runner’s ID, which may also be digital.

Failing to collect within the set times means giving up the bib and everything that comes with it, with no right to a refund.

Every registered participant receives a runner's bag, handed out together with the bib as per Article 9.

The bag includes, among other items:

• An official, personalised technical T-shirt of the Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027.
• Products, gifts and/or promotional material from sponsors and partners.

The T-shirt size must be selected during registration. The Organisation does not guarantee the fit or suitability of the selected size and accepts no responsibility for errors arising from that choice. Size exchanges at collection are not guaranteed either.

Every participant who officially completes the race receives a commemorative finisher medal at the finish line.

The medal can be personalised through the additional engraving service set out in Article 5.

The event may be suspended, postponed or modified due to force majeure, adverse weather, emergencies, safety reasons or other circumstances beyond the Organisation's control.

In such cases, the Organisation will take whatever measures it considers appropriate in accordance with the applicable rules and will inform participants of the corresponding conditions through the official channels.

The bib is personal and non-transferable.

It must be worn clearly visible on the front of the torso throughout the race.

It may not be folded, tampered with, trimmed, hidden or altered.

Failing to meet these obligations may lead to the consequences set out in Article 8.

The race uses electronic chip timing.

To appear in the official classification, participants must correctly wear the timing system provided or approved by the Organisation and pass through every checkpoint.

The race has live tracking through the app or platform provided by the Organisation.

Provisional and, later, official results are published on the Organisation’s own channels.

Complaints about results follow the procedure set out in Article 21.

The event is supervised by the judges of the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA), in accordance with the applicable federation rules.

Checkpoints and timing points will be set up along the course.

Safety on public roads is coordinated with the competent authorities, local police forces, Civil Protection, emergency services, volunteers and Organisation staff.

Participants must follow the instructions of the FCA judges, the Organisation and the security forces.

The race has a medical and health service spread along the course and at the start and finish areas, with the resources needed to deal with any incident during the race.

Medical staff are authorised to withdraw any participant from the race when they consider that continuing could put their health or safety at risk. Participants must follow the instructions of medical and health staff at all times.

Provisionally, aid stations are planned at the following points: km 5, km 10, km 15, finish / finish area.

Their exact location, and the type of liquid and/or solid refreshment available, will be confirmed before the race and announced on the Organisation’s official channels.

The aid stations listed are provisional and may change for technical, logistical or organisational reasons.

The race has an official distance of 21.0975 km and runs through the municipalities of Girona, Salt and Sarrià de Ter.

The course will be properly signposted, with checkpoints and timing points.

The course includes the mandatory kilometre 10 checkpoint, under the conditions and time limit set out in Article 3.

The Organisation may partially modify the course due to force majeure, safety, roadworks, public-road issues or other circumstances beyond its control.

The final course, the elevation profile, the aid stations and the rest of the technical information will be published on the official channels.

Participation is voluntary and at the participant's own responsibility. Each participant declares being in adequate physical condition and health to take on a 21.0975 km sporting event.

Each participant assumes the risks inherent in sport and undertakes to act responsibly, respect the other participants and follow the instructions of the Organisation, the FCA judges, the medical services, the volunteers and the security forces.

The Organisation recommends a prior medical check-up, especially in case of doubt about fitness to take on the event.

Participants whose physical condition or health could put themselves or others at risk undertake not to start, or to withdraw from the race. They must likewise withdraw when the medical services so decide.

The Organisation and the Catalan Athletics Federation accept no responsibility for material, physical or moral damage that participants or spectators may suffer or cause to third parties during the event, except where such damage is legally attributable to them.

Each participant is responsible for any damage they may cause to other participants, spectators or third parties as a result of actions attributable to them.

The applicable insurance cover is that set out in Article 19.

The personal details provided during registration are processed in accordance with current data protection law and with the Organisation's privacy policy.

Participants authorise the publication of their name, surname, sex, year of birth, bib number and sporting results in the entry lists, rankings and results, within the terms allowed by law.

Photographs, videos and other audiovisual material of participants may be captured during the event.

The capture and use of these images by the Organisation and, where applicable, the FCA, will be for purposes related to informing about, promoting, communicating and publicising the event, within the terms of the privacy policy and the applicable law.

The necessary data may be shared with federations, insurance companies, timing companies and other providers where required to organise the event and where an adequate legal basis exists.

The Organisation holds the civil liability and accident insurance required by current law.

Participants are covered under the terms and conditions of the policies and/or licences that apply to them.

Participants without a valid federation licence covering the event must hold the corresponding day licence and accident insurance, under the financial and verification terms set out in Article 5.

Any challenge to the classification, the categories, etc., is a matter for the Organisation alone; complaints must be submitted to it in writing within 30 minutes of the results being made official. Lodging a complaint requires a €50 deposit, which is returned if the complaint is upheld. The decision is final.

The Organisation accepts no responsibility for accidents or other harm that taking part in the race may cause to entrants, before, during or after it. The Organisation will nonetheless provide medical services for emergencies.

Registering for and taking part in the Mitja Marató Ciutat de Girona 2027 implies knowledge and full acceptance of these Regulations.

The Organisation may resolve any incident or situation not expressly covered by these Regulations, in accordance with the applicable sporting, federation and legal rules.

The Organisation reserves the right to amend these Regulations where necessary for organisational, sporting, federation, legal or safety reasons.

Any relevant amendment will be communicated to participants through the website and the event's official channels.
